"Konga the Gray Whale" by Inés Horovitz and illustrated by Ather Jamal. A fictional story in which Konga, a gray whale calf, tells about his experience from birth in a lagoon in Baja California, Mexico, to his arrival in the Arctic, in search of food for the summer. The story is based on reports about the ecology and behavior of gray whales. There is a series of questions and answers at the end of the story to review some of the information presented.
